I love the idea, and am so happy to see an extension of the principles of The Reading that keep me coming back to this page. I'm curious about the format and the "time" scheduled (i.e. when you will be hanging out with the community). Are we simply sounding off in the comments?
I'll be experimenting with times or simply alternating so people internationally can still join in, but the idea is that I'll send the newsletters with a question as I mention above, then hang out for about 45 minutes and talk to people in the comments! Substack has a "discussion thread" post type too, so I might experiment with those.
I'm new here and excited to follow along (congratulations on the Fellowship, by the way). I'd love to hear suggestions on writing workshops to attend to keep your craft sharp, especially during times of isolation. Would also love to hear your take on the age-old "should I pursue an MFA" question. Cheers!
I love the intention here, Yanyi. I appreciate your desire to not replicate existing creative writing institutions, but to have open, supportive, non-hierarchical dialogue instead. I also like how you are opening up space for feeling unsure, and for things changing. I'll definitely be following along.

Oh this sounds like fun! Maybe we could kick things off by talking about how everyone's been doing and writing this year?
That's great! Like a little roll call. :)

Hi Meghan! Welcome, and thank you. :) I like your suggestions and will put them on the list!
